Our Nursery

Cheeky Monkeys Day Nursery is privately run. We are registered by Ofsted Early Years for up to 85 children per session.

Cheeky Monkeys offers day nursery provision for the following ages which we divide into the following groups:

Rainbow Room - Aged 3 Months - Toddling

	A beautiful room with separate adjoining sleep room, which has beautiful cots and a buggy rocker.
	Each baby will have their own clean bedding to be taken home weekly to be washed.
	Shoes must not be warn in the Rainbow Room. Shoe covers can be found by the main entrance.
	Organised play and adventure.
	Secure outdoor all weather play area.

Bumblebee Room - Aged Toddler - Rising 2

	We provide a wide collection of learning experiences for toddlers to explore in our spacious safe, stimulating environment.
	We encourage free play, painting, drawing daily stories and nursery rhymes.
	We also offer our toddlers sleep time after lunch on beds with their own named blankets which are to be taken home weekly to be washed.
	Both physical & developmental needs are met, learning through play.
	Bumblebee Room have their own partly safety surfaced outdoor play area.
	The nursery day is structured but flexible to meet the individual needs of toddlers for both indoor & outdoor activities.

Ladybirds Room - Aged Rising 2 - 3 Years

	Children will learn through play and first hand experiences.
	We offer a choice of activities set out with materials & resources that vary according to the planning.
	Ladybirds have access to use the classroom PC, a cosy book corner, sand, water, marking table, small world toys, music and arts & crafts.
	Ladybirds have a large outdoor play area.
	Ladybirds Room have there own cloakroom and toilets.

Butterflies Room - Aged 3 - 5 Years

	We provide a safe, happy, play-based environment in which your child can learn to socialise and gain independence outside the family.
	We prepare children for the routines of a school day.
	Our staff encourage children to become independent, and to develop their social skills by communicating and sharing with others.
	We maintain close relationships with local schools, and can provide information for parents about schools in your area.
	Butterflies Room has an outdoor play area, and there own toilets and cloakroom

Our staff ratio for qualified staff is 1:3 for babies aged 3 months to 2 years old, 1:4 for 2 - 3 year olds and 1:8 for 3 - 5 year olds. We also accommodate students who are working towards childcare qualifications and offer an apprentice scheme. At Cheeky Monkeys Day Nursery our staff ratio’s are kept above the legal requirement to ensure all our children’s needs are met.

We are registered to accept several nursery care vouchers please advise us.

Uniform is compulsory and is payable on your initial deposit invoice.

Under the EYFS Development Plan we are able to offer a nursery place to a child the term following their 3rd birthday for a maximum of currently 15 hrs per week free of charge.

Early childhood development plays a significant part in a child’s future development. It is our aim to provide a safe and caring learning environment to help children develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.

Cheeky Monkeys Day Nursery offers a mix of structured and unstructured play with approved media including water, paint, sand and play dough as well as more natural resources. Children will often take part in a “making” activity with assorted craft materials. We have a large selection of toys for the children to explore. Quieter occupations include listening to stories, sharing experiences and enjoying a snack and drink together, which also help them adopt positive social skills. Cosy book corners are available for children who prefer to curl up and look through our extensive range of books. Learning to write their own name, familiarising themselves with letters and numbers and discovering all sorts of new, exciting things in the world around them will make each session fun and enjoyable for your child.

As your child develops and prepares for the next step to their first school, we will prepare your child to be ready for that stage of their development. Our activities will be planned using the latest Government guidelines The Early Years Foundation Stage.
