Monkeys Nursery School
On behalf of the staff at Cheeky Monkeys
we would like to welcome you, as a family to our nursery.
We trust that your child will enjoy his /
her time with us; Starting nursery is an exciting and important event
for every young child, it can also be a slightly worrying time for the
child and parents. This brochure aims to smooth out any worries or
anxieties and to put in their place excitement and anticipation.
Please do not hesitate to question
anything you don't understand.
The teaching staff are available if you
have an immediate problem. If you wish to discuss any matter at greater
length the evening number listed, may be used after nursery hours. Your
child's teacher(s) are available to discuss your child's progress at the
beginning or end of a nursery session.
We hope you find Cheeky Monkeys a warm
and friendly nursery, a place where parents and staff can find
friendship and feel a spirit of a safe, loved & learning environment.

Our Nursery
- Cheeky Monkeys is privately run; We
are registered by OFSTED Early Years, have 37 children per session.
- We have a staff ratio of 1:4 + floater
for the 2-3 yrs and 1:8 + floater for the 3-5 yrs.
- We are able to offer a high ratio of
staff to the children which enables us to offer special attention to
those that demand a little bit more.
- We are OFSTED approved and are part of
the Early Years Development Plan which enables us to offer a nursery
place for a 3 -5 year old’s for a max of 5 sessions 2.5 hours per week
free of charge under the government scheme.

The nursery allows the children to make
their own decisions, in small matters, wherever possible in order to
enable them to develop self awareness and responsibility together with a
sense of self worth and independence.

The Early Years Foundation Stage
Cheeky Monkeys offers a developmentally appropriate curriculum which
works towards the required learning outcomes by using a high level of
staff support to harness children's natural interest and curiosity. We
promote the Early Years Foundation Stage, which sets out the SIX area’s
of learning.

We have a high % of children who enter
Private Schools at 4-4.5 years. Schools we recommend are: Radlett Prep,
Manor Lodge, Westward and Holland House. All of which we have a high
entrance rate. We have a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator
appointed and is available to discuss your child’s special individual
needs.
